Geocaching: The ability to wander aimlessly with purpose.

Seriously Geocaching means several things to us, but most importantly it has created a common bond between us and my son hkyplr.

Also, being a lover of the outdoors, but not always having a "plan" when spending time outdoors, now all we have to do is plug in a few bits of information, have geocaching.com do the thinking for us, and presto, we know where to go, and why. We love the challenge of finding the caches and the element of surprise after finding them; what is in it, who has been there prior etc.

During our free time, we no longer start the day by saying "what do you want to do today?" "I don’t know, what do you want to do" "Well, we could go for a drive somewhere…"……you get the picture. Now, if time allows, we are generating a geocaching plan which usually includes all or most of the things that we enjoy. We are spending time in nature, driving and/or hiking, or better yet riding our motorcycles. We usually find some new place to eat, and ALWAYS find some wonderful out of the way places and roads in nature that before Geocaching were well kept secrets. Thanks fellow geocachers for sharing your favorite places with us. And thanks to hkyplr for turning us on to geocaching to begin with. OH, and thanks for starting this website it is great so far!
